What is the IB PYP (Primary Years Program)?The Primary Years Program (PYP), which is the first stage of the IB (International Baccalaureate) system and applied for children between the ages of 3 and 12, is an educational model that aims to develop young students as active participants who attach importance to lifelong learning. Many trainings such as globally important trainings, field trainings, knowledge-skill-behavior development trainings are provided for children to grow as inquirers and inquirers both in the classroom and in the outside world.
The PYP has a flexible curriculum designed to adapt to the requirements of most national and local curricula. A curriculum is prepared for students to train the basic elements such as knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes and actions required to be successful today and in the future. These trainings are both traditional field trainings; While it includes fields such as mathematics, science, art, language, social sciences, personal-social-physical education, it also includes transdisciplinary education. Within the interdisciplinary training; Themes such as who we are, the place and time we are, our ways of expressing ourselves, the way the world works, the way we organize ourselves, and the planet are covered. Apart from these, various projects, events, summits, exhibitions are organized and active participation of students is ensured.
The PYP has identified seven key concepts:

- Format - What does it look like? The understanding that everything is in a form with familiar features that can be observed, described, described, and classified.
- Function - How does it work? The understanding that everything has a purpose, role, or searchable behavior.
- Causation (cause and effect) - Why is that? - the understanding that things are not spontaneous; there are causality relationships in the circuit, and actions have consequences.
- Change - How is it transforming? Understanding that change is a process of transition from one state to another. It is universal and inevitable.
- Link - What is the link with other things? Understanding that we live in an interactive world where the actions of any element affect others.
- Perspective - What are the perspectives? - Understanding that knowledge is governed by different views, thus causing different interpretations, understandings and findings; perspectives can be individual, group specific, cultural or subject specific.
- Responsibility - What are our responsibilities? The understanding that people make choices based on their own understandings, beliefs and values and as a result, the actions they take make a difference.
